Volunteer and be the Experience

A volunteer is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task (Webster 2019)

As a single parent, one most likely feels as though their existence is a sequence of volunteer adventures. These day-to-day experiences ensure our children become good stewards and productive citizens.

Parents, it is our responsibility to ensure this happens.

Reasons to volunteer

  1. Be the example

  2. Build self confidence

  3. Gain new skills

  4. Regain an appreciation for life

  5. Make new friends and network

I encourage you to sit down with your child(ren), choose a volunteer project, and enjoy the experience together. It allows them to see and feel the value in “giving back.”

A Prayer for Tiresome Days

When the work day gets the best of you!

Dear single parents,

After a long, grueling and taxing work day take some time to restore your mind with this simple prayer…

Father, clear my sleepy head and fill my mind with expectation. Awake my slow body and energize my heart with love in action. Ignite my spirit and set this day on fire with promise. Make the ordinary extraordinary. Engage me, show me your kingdom alive. Help me to see that every waking moment is full of promise because of you. Amen.

All the best,

Be a TESTimony

We survive our troubles to provide for those in need; therefore, single parents are encouraged to build meaningful and positive relationships with people other than their children. These friendships serve as a foundation to build the support system needed in a one parent home. This is by design and not open for discussion or debate. It is a master plan to aid in village growth. The same village that helps protect their children.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” (Psalms 46 1-3 NIV).

Difficult times breed life lessons which result in personal elevation. Once the difficult time, known as a TEST, has passed it becomes a TESTimony. It is our responsibility to share this testimony with someone in need.

Keep giving! Keep living! Keep thriving!

What is your TEST? Share your TESTimony in the comments section and be a blessing to other single parents.

I look forward to reading your comments.
