Noteworthy Nugget #07 – Time

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

-J.R.R. Tolkien

We all have experienced it, hidden it, or embellished in it. We made the decision to use our time to baske in self pity. It happens more than one will ever know.

Have you ever felt alone, even when there is someone else in the room? Does it seem as though the world around you is moving, but you are at a standstill? Are you and your child hungry, but you don’t have the energy to cook? Do you long for a friend to reach out and tell you everything is going to be alright? Is beauty and glamour a low priority? Is the calm and solemn space you created now chaotic? Does the slightest noise sound like an airplane landing inside your head? Do you long for a deep, meaningful, and intellectual conversation?

If the answers are yes to all or some of these questions then you are allowed to baske, but only for the moment – that’s it. Now it is time to pray this https://www.google.com/amp/s/asingleparentstruth.family.blog/2019/08/23/a-prayer-for-tiresome-days/amp/

Next, do something inexpensive to help redirect your mind, body and spirit by releasing positive energy. Try some or all of these meaningful things:

  1. Read a fun and jaw dropping book.
  2. Try a new recipe.
  3. Glamour up. Wash and style your hair, polish your fingers and toe nails. Also, try a new nail polish color.
  4. Exercise. Walk, run or try a yoga class. You’ll be surprised what a 15 minute gentle yoga or stretching class can do for the body.
  5. Hydrate. Drink a glass of water.
  6. Massage Therapy. Get a massage. There are a variety of ala cart enhancements services available as well (i.e. hot stones, deep tissue pressure, aromatherapy etc..).
  7. Get crafty. Discover a new passion or dust off the supplies from an old hobby.
  8. Pray. There is no need for an explanation. Begin with,”he giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” – Isaiah 40:29.

This is Gods way of getting your attention so he can reveal something to you. He has an important message to share. In the meantime, try the aforementioned tips while waiting on God. Take time to gauge your mental health before trying any activity and then afterwards see which SELF you like the best.
