Do you know there is a day to celebrate single parents who are taking care of children without a partner? Well my single parent friends, it is true. Proclamation 5166 was signed by President Ronald Reagan on March 21, 1984. This proclamation serves to recognize all the single parents who are raising kids on their own.

A Lavender Place is a proud single parent of an 11 year old boy who is the inspiration for her blog. Her hope is to provide a platform to support single parents on their journey through parenthood. She has an MA in Organizational Management. Presently, she is working on her second master's degree and teaching 6th grade math in one of Georgia's largest school systems.
